
Stefani Bedin is a solo and collaborative performer, liturgical musician, educator, and researcher based in her hometown of Toronto. She recently completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance at the University of Toronto, where she studied under the tutelage of Professor Kevin Komisaruk. She also holds a Master of Music degree in Organ Performance and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music History and Theory (Honours) with a minor in historical keyboard from the University of Toronto. Her academic research examines the impact of the Second Vatican Council on organists and explores the significant role the organ can play in fostering congregations’ active participation in the liturgy.
Stefani is the Director of Music & Organist at Christ Church Deer Park, having previously served as the Associate Organist of St. Basil’s Catholic Parish collegiate church of the University of Toronto’s St. Michael’s College. Stefani also teaches organ, piano and music theory privately, and previously worked as a keyboard harmony course instructor and teaching assistant for theory, history, and music appreciation courses at the University of Toronto.
Committed to sharing the organ’s music with diverse audiences, Stefani has given several solo recitals and is the president of the Royal Canadian College of Organists’ Toronto Centre. She is also the recipient of several awards including the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (2023), Gerhard Brunzema Fellowship in Organ Performance (2022), the Ontario Arts Council’s New Generation Artists Grant (2022, for a project involving virtual organ technology) and the Royal Canadian College of Organists’ John Goss (2020) and Godfrey Hewitt Scholarships (2019).
